Pool Repair Services
Let's find out if it's the motor.
Motors on our coastal and inland pads die differently. Near the coast, salt air corrodes terminals and bearings; inland, afternoon heat cooks capacitors and trips thermal overloads. The symptoms look the same: a hum with no start, a breaker that trips, a motor that runs hot and quits. We check voltage at the motor, the capacitor, bearing noise, amp draw against the nameplate and the windings, and tell you which it is.
A capacitor is a small part and a short job for a contractor. Bearings and windings mean the motor is done. If it is, this is the moment to consider a variable-speed replacement rather than another single-speed motor; the energy savings usually pay for the difference inside two summers. We'll put both options in writing and refer the install to our licensed partner.
Clean filter, clear baskets, a schedule that doesn't run the pump 24/7, and shade over the pad if it bakes in the afternoon. All of that is part of weekly service, which is why pumps on serviced pools outlast the ones that run neglected.
Your tech reads amp draw and listens for bearing noise on every visit, and a motor that is starting to struggle gets flagged in your customer portal while a capacitor is still the fix, not a replacement.

“I've had James servicing my pool for about a month. He shows up on his scheduled day and lets me know when he's on his way. Pool is looking good and he informs me of potential issues to consider addressing. Would recommend him and Next Level for pool service.”
