Escondido pools get heat, hard water, and ash. We plan for all three.

Next Level Pool Service has been keeping Escondido pools clear for over fifteen years. Weekly service across Felicita, South Boulevard, Midway, Eureka, and East Grove — cleaned, balanced, and with your equipment checked on every visit, so nothing about your pool is a surprise. No contracts. Your first 4 visits are free.

Escondido is the hottest of the cities we run. A pool in Felicita or East Grove sits at 88 degrees by late July, and warm water eats chlorine twice as fast as cool water. Add hard water — Escondido's supply is imported and comes in at the same hardness as Vallecitos next door — and you've got scale on the tile and a salt cell working overtime in the months it can least afford to. We hold the chemistry tighter in Escondido than anywhere else on the route, and we add pump run time in summer when the water calls for it.

Why stabilizer and calcium climb faster here

Evaporation is the reason. In July and August an Escondido pool can lose a couple of inches a week, and what evaporates is pure water — the calcium, the stabilizer, and everything else stays behind and gets more concentrated. Then you top off with hard tap water and add more calcium. Every chlorine tab adds stabilizer that never leaves. By the end of a summer, a pool that tested fine in May can have stabilizer high enough that the chlorine reads fine and still doesn't work, which is how a pool goes green with a full floater. We log the stabilizer every week and the calcium as the water calls for it, dose chlorine without adding stabilizer when it's already high, and tell you when the water has aged past what chemistry can fix — that's when a reverse osmosis treatment beats a drain.

Ash, wind, and the old-tree neighborhoods

Any time something burns east of the 15, it ends up on Escondido water — a grey film on the surface and a spike in phosphates a week later that feeds algae if nobody's watching. After an ash event the pools on this side of the county get an early stop; an ash cleanup is its own process and is quoted separately — it isn't part of the weekly visit. Santa Anas come off San Pasqual and Daley Ranch and pack a skimmer basket overnight, and that gets handled on the regular weekly stop. Midway and Eureka are older neighborhoods with older plaster and older pads, where a heater that short-cycles in October is usually calcium in the exchanger and worth diagnosing before winter. South Boulevard and the streets around Kit Carson are bigger family pools that get used every day of summer, and bather load is a real chemistry input we plan around.

How a week with us goes

Same tech, same day, every week. Water tested before anything is touched, then brushed, netted, baskets emptied, vacuumed when it needs it, and chemistry adjusted from the test. Filter gauge read, pump watched priming, cell and heater looked at. Then a photo and the numbers emailed to you before the truck leaves. When something on the pad fails, we diagnose it and put the finding in writing; work that needs a C-53 goes to a partner you deal with directly, and we take nothing on it.

No contract. If we ever skip a scheduled stop, that visit is free. Not happy after your free month? Walk away. You owe nothing.

The Escondido neighborhoods we service

All four ZIP codes — 92025, 92026, 92027, and 92029 — from the old grid downtown to the hills on every side. The truck is based in Vista, west on the 78.

Old Escondido, Felicita & Country Club

The oldest pools in the city: sixties and seventies plaster under big mature trees, on lots that have had a few owners and a few pads. Leaf load all winter, shade half the day, and plumbing that predates every pump on the market.

Midway, Eureka & East Grove

Older neighborhoods with older plaster and older pads. This is where a heater short-cycling in October usually turns out to be scale in the exchanger, and where the salt cell gets looked at every stop.

South Boulevard & Kit Carson

Bigger family pools on the south side that get used every day of summer. Bather load is a real chemistry input here — sunscreen, sweat, and a dozen kids on a Saturday — and we plan the dose around it, not just around the weather.

Hidden Meadows & Jesmond Dene

Up on the hills north of town: larger lots, larger pools, more wind, and pads a long walk from the house. Hilltop evaporation runs ahead of the valley floor, so the level and the calcium both move faster. Some of these streets are on a different supply than the city grid, so we test rather than assume.

Del Dios & Lake Hodges

Oaks, lake humidity, and bugs the rest of Escondido doesn't get. Debris on the water after any breeze, and the shadiest corners on the route, where algae slows down in winter but never quits.

East Valley, San Pasqual & Rancho San Pasqual

Tract pools with hot afternoons on the east side, and out toward San Pasqual the agriculture and open land upwind put dust on the water after every Santa Ana. Rancho San Pasqual is newer builds behind a gate with an HOA — codes and schedules are fine. After a wind, the baskets and the floor get the extra attention on the regular weekly stop.

What a weekly visit includes in Escondido

Seven steps, same order, every week. Twenty to thirty minutes on a typical Escondido pool; longer under the old trees and after a windy week.

1Test before anything is touched

Free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer, plus salt on salt pools; calcium hardness when the water calls for it. In Escondido the stabilizer number matters as much as the chlorine number, because high stabilizer is why a chlorinated pool still goes green here.

2Brush walls, tile line, and steps

Walls and steps every week, the tile line as needed before scale bonds, and the shade corners twice when they need it under the Felicita and Del Dios trees. Algae here doesn't take winter off.

3Net the surface, empty both baskets

Skimmer and pump basket, every stop. After a Santa Ana off San Pasqual this is the step that takes longest. A packed basket starves the pump.

4Vacuum when the floor needs it

After the wind, after the ash, after the oaks drop. On what we see, not on a rotation.

5Dose from the test, mind the stabilizer

Chlorine, acid, and whatever the numbers called for, dosed to volume and logged. When stabilizer is already high we chlorinate without adding more of it. pH held low when the hard water calls for it. Chemicals are in the weekly rate.

6Read the gauge, watch the prime, look at the cell and heater

Filter pressure, pump flow, salt cell plates, heater. Heat and hard water together are hard on seals and exchangers, so both get eyes on them weekly.

7Email the photo report before we leave

A picture of the pool, the numbers, what we did, and anything to keep an eye on — sent from the truck, every visit.

Your first month is free. Military, first responders, and hospital staff: your first eight visits. No contract.

New weekly customers in Escondido get their first four visits on us — four full weekly visits, then you decide.

How the free month works

You call, we quote from your pool's size and what's on the pad, and the first visit goes on the next route day that passes your house — usually this week. Four weeks of the full visit, and you pay nothing. Then month to month at the quoted rate, or tell us to stop. Conditions: new weekly customers, one per household, and the pool needs to be swimmable to start. A green pool — and Escondido has more of them than any city we serve — is a cleanup first, then the free month begins.

Military, first responders, and hospital staff

Active duty, reserve, retired, or veteran, any branch — and first responders and hospital staff too — your first eight weekly visits are free. Camp Pendleton is a commute a lot of Escondido families make. PCS orders? Tell us the date and we pause or cancel the same day, no fee. Details on the military page.

If we ever skip a scheduled stop, that visit is free

You'll know because the photo didn't arrive. We don't argue about it. No annual agreement, no cancellation fee, no notice period beyond telling us.

You'll know your pool was serviced. You'll see it.

After every stop you get an email: a photo of your pool, the chemistry numbers, what we did, and anything to keep an eye on. Not a checkbox on an invoice — an actual picture, every week.

If we ever skip a scheduled stop, that visit is free.

Hi Mark — pool's done. FC 3.0 · pH 7.4 · Alk 90 · CH 320. Skimmer basket was packed from the Santa Ana, cleared it. Filter at 14 psi, normal. Salt cell reading 85% — fine for now, I'll watch it next month. — James

What your tech watches for in Escondido

What goes wrong on Escondido pools most often, and what we do about it first.

Heat

Chlorine gone by afternoon

Warm water and hard sun. We test weekly, dose to the pool's actual demand, and add pump run time in summer when the water calls for it.

Stabilizer

Green with a full floater

Stabilizer so high the chlorine can't work. We log it, chlorinate without adding more, and say plainly when RO is the answer.

Scale

Tile line, cell, and heater exchanger

Hard imported water. Tile brushed as needed, pH held low when the water calls for it, cell looked at weekly and cleaned every three months with the filter, heater short-cycling diagnosed in writing before winter.

Ash & wind

Grey film, packed baskets

Fires east of the 15 and Santa Anas off San Pasqual. Wind debris gets handled on the regular weekly stop — net, both baskets, gauge, vacuum if the floor needs it. After an ash event these pools get an early stop, and an ash cleanup is its own process, quoted separately.

When something on the pad fails, you get the truth in writing.

Most companies serving Escondido sell the weekly service and sell the fix. We don't do the second part, and we'll say so plainly.

When a heater won't fire, a pump won't prime, or a salt cell reads zero, we run the checks — flow, pressure, error codes, and what the equipment itself reports — and put the finding in writing: what's wrong, whether it's urgent, and our honest opinion on fix versus replace. In Escondido heat, a lot of "the pump died" calls are a pump that lost prime through a packed basket or a dry lid O-ring, and that we clear on the spot as part of the visit.

When it needs a C-53

Anything involving parts, wiring, or gas goes to our referral partner, Pool-Clinic Inc., a licensed C-53 swimming pool contractor, CSLB #1122305. You contract with them directly and pay them directly. We take nothing.

Because we don't earn on the fix, the write-up has no reason to say anything but what's true.

How a diagnostic visit works is on the diagnostics page. The common ones: heater not heating, pump won't prime, motor humming or tripping, light out, automation not responding.

Escondido pool service questions

The ones we get on the phone from Escondido. If yours isn't here, call — the owner picks up.

How much does weekly pool service cost in Escondido?

Quoted on the phone in about two minutes from your pool's size and what's on the pad — no site visit. Chemicals are in the weekly rate; filter and salt cell cleans are quoted separately and done every three months on the same visit. The first four visits are free, so you see the service before you pay for it.

Why does my Escondido pool go green so fast in summer, and can you bring it back?

Heat, sun, and stabilizer. Water in the high eighties burns chlorine fast, and after a few summers the stabilizer is high enough that what's left can't work. Yes, we bring them back — most clear in three to five days without a drain — and then we fix the chemistry that caused it. Details on the algae treatment page.

Why does my chlorine disappear by afternoon here?

Sun and heat consume free chlorine. If stabilizer is low the sun takes it in hours; if it's very high the chlorine reads fine and does nothing. Both happen in Escondido. Testing both numbers weekly, dosing to actual demand, and more pump time in summer when the water calls for it is the answer.

Do you service Hidden Meadows, Del Dios, and the San Pasqual Valley?

Yes, all four ZIP codes. Gated communities like Rancho San Pasqual are fine; give us the code or put us on the list. On the Valley Center or Rancho Bernardo edge, call and we'll tell you honestly whether we can hold a day for you.

How do the four free visits work, and who qualifies for eight?

New weekly customers get a full month of weekly service free, then decide. No contract, no cancellation fee. Military households — active, reserve, retired, veteran, any branch — plus first responders and hospital staff get eight. One per household, and the pool needs to be swimmable to start; a green pool is a cleanup first.

What do you do after a Santa Ana fills my pool with debris?

It gets handled on your regular weekly stop: surface netted, both baskets emptied, filter pressure read, floor vacuumed if it needs it. A filter that loaded up overnight is the most common reason an Escondido pool goes cloudy after a wind; if the gauge says it needs a clean, we tell you and quote it. Ash is different: after an ash event those pools get an early stop, and an ash cleanup is its own process, quoted separately — it isn't part of the weekly visit.

Can you fix my pump, heater, or salt cell?

We diagnose it and put the finding in writing: what's wrong, whether it's urgent, and our honest fix-versus-replace opinion. Flow and settings problems we clear on the spot. Anything with parts, wiring, or gas goes to Pool-Clinic Inc., a licensed C-53 swimming pool contractor, CSLB #1122305 — you deal with them directly and we take nothing on it. See diagnostics.

Will the same tech come on the same day, and do I need to be home?

Same tech, same day, every week; if he's out, you hear from us before the visit. You don't need to be home. We need gate access — a code, a key, or an unlocked side gate — and we latch it behind us. Tell us about dogs up front, and please keep dogs inside on route day.

Next Level (James) is a highly competent professional service that focuses on long term care rather than "Throw a bunch of chemicals at the problem and cross your fingers". Highly Recommend.”

“…I have been through six pool service companies/people in the last 18 months regarding algae growth and spread in my pool. Everyone that came out previously poured shock in by the gallons and loaded the floater with chlorine tabs. This not only did not help, but ruined my pool water to the point I had to drain the pool and scrub it from top to bottom. I finally found Next Level Pool Service and he not only told me exactly what caused the problem (over use of stabilized chlorine and shock), but told me exactly how to resolve the current situation and prevent further algae growth.”
