Pool Repair Services
Let's find out what's actually wrong.
A pool in North County gets used nearly year-round, and so does the equipment behind it. Sooner or later the pump starts screaming, the heater won't light, a light trips the breaker, or the automation app says the pool is doing something it clearly isn't. The frustrating part isn't the breakdown; it's not knowing whether you're looking at a $40 fix or a $4,000 one.
Next Level's answer is a diagnostic visit. We come out, test the whole system, and write down what's wrong, what it will take, and what it would cost. Most of the time, the problem is a flow restriction, a clogged basket, an air leak, a scaled cell, a tripped GFCI or a setting, and it's fixed in that visit.
When it truly needs a C-53 contractor, we say so and refer our licensed partner. We don't sell parts, so our diagnosis isn't tied to a sale.
A pump that's loud, losing prime, cycling on and off or barely moving water usually isn't a dead pump. Signs we check:
We test flow, pressure, amp draw and the suction side, and tell you in writing whether it's a maintenance fix we handle on the spot (basket, re-prime, lid o-ring lube, valve positions, a loaded filter) or a part or replacement that goes to a licensed contractor. Most pump calls end with the pump running again that day.
An older heater that won't fire can often be brought back for a fraction of the cost of a new one, but only if someone finds the real cause. Heaters refuse to light for reasons that have nothing to do with the heater: low flow from a dirty filter, a pressure switch that isn't satisfied, a tripped high-limit, a dead pilot or igniter, a bad thermostat reading.
We walk the sequence, flow, gas, ignition, sensors, exchanger, and put the finding in writing. Flow problems we clear on the spot. Gas, igniter, sensor and exchanger work is referred to a licensed contractor, with our diagnosis in hand so you're not paying for the same test twice.
The mechanical timer is the simplest device on the pad and the one that quietly costs the most when it fails. A timer that's drifting, stuck, or running the pump 24 hours a day shows up as an electric bill before it shows up as a problem. We check the clock motor, the trippers, the contacts and the supply, confirm the schedule actually matches the dial, and reset the run time to the turnover your pool needs.
A loose or unsealed timer door is the usual tell. Simple timer issues are resolved during the visit; wiring work is referred.
Homeowners often assume a dead pool light means draining the pool. It almost never does. A light that's out or tripping the GFCI is usually the GFCI itself, the switch, a transformer on a low-voltage system, a flooded niche from a failed gasket, or simply the lamp.
We test from the breaker to the fixture and tell you which. Lamps, gaskets and anything that opens the fixture or the junction box are referred to a licensed electrician or our C-53 partner, with our diagnosis in hand. Nobody drains a pool over a light bulb.
A motor that hums without starting, trips the breaker, or runs hot and shuts down is telling you something specific. We check voltage at the motor, the capacitor, bearing noise, amp draw against the nameplate, and the windings. A capacitor is a small part; seized bearings or burnt windings mean the motor is done.
Either way you'll know before you spend anything, and if a new motor or a variable-speed upgrade is the right call, we'll say so and refer the install.
Pentair, Hayward and Jandy systems fail in predictable places: a relay that won't close, an actuator that doesn't turn, a lost RS-485 connection, a sensor that's reading wrong, or an app that's simply unpaired. We check power, relays, actuators, communication and sensor readings, and we re-pair and reprogram when that's the fix, which it often is. Board and wiring work is referred.
A diagnostic visit is a flat fee, quoted on the phone before we come out, not an hourly clock. Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside and Carlsbad are usually same day or next day; Escondido, Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rancho Santa Fe fit around route days. Call or text (760) 330-4465 and tell us what the equipment is doing.
Next Level is at your service 24/7. Heater not working at 10 pm before guests arrive? Pump screaming on a Sunday? Call us. A real person picks up any hour, walks you through getting back online over the phone, and if it needs hands we come out. No answering service, no "we'll call you Monday."
